labyrinth chartres labyrinth solvitur scribendo spiral notebook

$23.95

Original design. Made to order. Ships free.

The Chartres labyrinth has been in the floor of Notre-Dame de Chartres Cathedral in France since the early 13th century. Eleven circuits. Four quadrants corresponding to the seasons and the cardinal directions. A single winding path- 261 meters from entrance to center- with no dead ends and no wrong turns. Sacred geometry built by people who believed the proportions of the universe were the language of God. It has been walked continuously for 800 years. Solvitur Scribendo- a play on the old Latin “solvitur ambulando.” If walking solves it for some people, writing solves it for others. Same principle, different practice: put it on the page and work it out there. This Chartres Labyrinth notebook is for the person who works things out on the page. • Soft-touch coated covers, metal wire-o binding • 140 dotted pages, 5.5″ x 8.5″ 800 years and still walked.
