Original design. Made to order. Ships free.

The Man in the Maze is a sacred design of the Tohono O’odham people of southern Arizona. The figure at the top is I’itoi- Elder Brother, the creator- standing at the entrance of a labyrinth that represents a life. Every twist and turn represents a choice made. Every change of direction is a moment that made you stronger, or wiser, or knocked you flat and required you to get back up. At the very center, a final opportunity to look back on the whole journey before the Sun God greets you. Solvitur Ambulando is Latin for “it is solved by walking.” Attributed to St. Augustine and later embraced by Diogenes, Thoreau, and everyone who has ever laced up their shoes to outpace their own thoughts. The science backs it up: walking a labyrinth has been shown to lower cortisol, reduce blood pressure, and support emotional processing. Sometimes the answer isn’t in your head. It’s in the walk. This Man in the Maze tote is for the walker drawn to this specific path. For the person who doesn’t sit still when working something out. Who finds clarity in the walk, not the waiting. Who doesn’t need to explain the practice to anyone- but wouldn’t mind wearing it. • 100% certified organic cotton 3/1 twill • GOTS and OCS certified, PETA-Approved Vegan Wear the walk.
