Labyrinth abingdon labyrinth Solvitur Ambulando Dad hat
$28.95
Original design. Made to order. Ships free.
The Abingdon labyrinth dates from the 11th century- appearing as an illustration in a manuscript produced near Oxford, England. Known to labyrinth enthusiasts but never built, never walked. Not until 2009, when it was finally recreated in physical form at St. Michael and All Angels Church in Abingdon. A design that waited almost a thousand years to be walked.
Solvitur Ambulando is Latin for “it is solved by walking.” Attributed to St. Augustine and later embraced by Diogenes, Thoreau, and everyone who has ever laced up their shoes to outpace their own thoughts. The science backs it up: walking a labyrinth has been shown to lower cortisol, reduce blood pressure, and support emotional processing. Sometimes the answer isn’t in your head. It’s in the walk.
This Abingdon Labyrinth dad hat is for the walker drawn to this specific path. For the person who doesn’t sit still when working something out. Who finds clarity in the walk, not the waiting. Who doesn’t need to explain the practice to anyone- but wouldn’t mind wearing it.
• 100% chino cotton twill
