A little stack of books. The text: I read banned books.
Books open worlds. They introduce you to people you’d never meet, experiences you’d never have, perspectives that stretch how you think and feel. They make you smarter, more empathetic, more capable of understanding people who are nothing like you. The idea of banning books- denying people access to knowledge, to other people’s stories, to content that might help someone feel less alone- is something to push back against. Hard. This design does it quietly and clearly.
For the reader who believes that access to books- all books- matters. Who sees book banning as a restriction on thought, empathy, and freedom. Who reads banned books deliberately, as an act of conviction, and is not shy about it.
